Watermelons are tricky, tricky fruit but they do not wear high heels, to the best of my knowledge. Confused? You will have to read my column!
Mom goes back home tomorrow, sniff sniff.

Irrational Fears Can Be Entertaining...
My new column is up at Scrapbook.com. This week I fill you in on my irrational fears. I know you just didn't feel complete not knowing. Here's a sneak peek:"The Root Canal specialist guy wasn’t very interested in my fear and decided that nitrous oxide would cure me. Only after being given a liberal, and by liberal I mean enough to float a balloon at the Macy’s Day Parade, dose of the nitrous oxide was I able to relax. I was then given these awesome sunglasses that made me look like Tom Cruise in Risky Business. In theory the sunglasses were to protect my eyes from the glare of the lights. In reality, however, all I could do was sing “Old Time Rock and Roll.” When Root Canal specialist guy returned to check on me before the procedure to find me rocking out to Bob Seger, I think he regretted his decision. I know he is counting down the days until my follow-up appointment."
Have a great Monday!!

Happy Root Canal Day!
Ok, well, not really, but I am tired of stressing about it and I am going to embrace my root canal. Or maybe not. We'll see. At any rate, it is today and I don't have much choice about the whole dang thing.
My new column is up at Scrapbook.com. Check it out if you get a chance. :) I am also hosting a contest over there during the month of June. It's called the "Brand New" June Contest and Scrapbook.com is giving away 12 $30.00 Prize Packs. I get to choose the winners, which gives me way more power than I deserve. Bwah ha ha!
I got my June Mosh Posh kit in the mail on Saturday and I am happily creating over here. It is so fun to work with!! I will be uploading layouts soon. :)

In the meantime, please think positive non-agonizing thoughts for my dental adventure today! And maybe a few positive thoughts for my grandmother too, she could really use them.

Lenore's Sugar Cookies
My new column is up at Scrapbook.com. Breuklyn and I made my grandmother's sugar cookies yesterday, and it somehow morphed into a column. Very convenient. I thought I would share the recipe, these cookies are all kinds of amazing. They are very fluffy. Yum. Have a great Monday!!
Lenore's Sugar Cookies
2 cups granulated sugar
½ cup butter
½ cup shortening
3 eggs
1 cup sour milk*
2 T. vanilla
4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. nutmeg
Cream together sugar, butter and shortening. Add eggs, sour milk and vanilla. Sift together dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients to the wet mixture gradually. Do not over mix. Dough will be very wet. Chill dough for at least an hour. Once dough is thoroughly chilled, drop by teaspoon-full onto parchment paper-lined cookie sheets. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
*Sour milk: 1 T. vinegar and enough milk to equal 1 cup. Let stand for 5 minutes.

Irrevocable Truths
My new column is up at Scrapbook.com, yay! It is all about the irrevocable truths in my life. For example, the more that my hair takes on a life of its own and I am wearing a t-shirt covered in paint, the more likely it is that someone I don't like will stop by for an unannounced visit.
Other than that, we have just been hanging out. If it would stop raining, we would venture outside. The weatherlady said that we should see some sun on... Thursday. Yeah.
