12 Days of Cookies: Murstees! + Some pictures

Are you keeping up with the 12 Days of Cookies? Have you made any of them?? I would *love* to hear if you have. Sometimes I wonder if I am the only crazy person who is absolutely infatuated with cookie creations.

Day 7: Murstees (or Malted Toffee Oatmeal Cookies)

Today has been busy! I made 5 different flavors of hard candy: Peppermint, Cinnamon, Orange, Wintergreen and Spearmint. I will be sweeping up shards of sugar until Easter. There is no mess-free way of breaking the candy into pieces.

I also made a huge batch of dough that is chilling in my refrigerator, just waiting for me. I adapted a few recipes and created my own Gingersnap recipe. I wanted something super spicy, and I succeeded in super spicy. You can't go wrong with cinnamon, nutmeg, ground ginger, cloves and cardamom. Yum.

Maddux has dreams of being a pro t-baller. We are working on the whole keep your eye on the ball thing.

Breuklyn can spell. And write. And read. And draw huge candy canes. I love how the whole world is just opening up to her. She is excited that she is now in on the whole grown-up secret of letters and numbers actually meaning something. Sweet, sweet girl.

I hope that everyone had a great weekend, we certainly did!

We will be making your cookies with the kisses on top this week. I will most definitely let you know when I do.

The new camera is taking some great photos.

And ummm when did B learn to do all that stuff?? (sniff sniff)

Hey Estee!

I'm going to be making your Andes Mint Cookies for a Cookie Exchange party I'm going to in a few weeks! I am SOOO excited to try them out! (As is my husband, as soon as he saw the pictures I showed him from your blog!) You absolutely amaze me with all the crafts, foods, desserts, etc. that you make--and you STILL have time to keep up with your kids!! :-) I hope when we have children I have as much creativity and energy as you!

I made the Andes Mint cookies yesterday for an exchange! I had Tim's son Ian unwrap the candy cane kisses while he was here today to make those in the next day or so. I have a Santa Shoppe craft sale tomorrow once that is over I'm going to bake and decorate. Oh and do some Christmas cards. Actually started cards tonight. Yea!

I love seeing pix of your kiddos!

Love those pics - so cute! :) I have a huge love for Christmas cookies and started my two week baking marathon yesterday! Those Andes mint cookies are calling to me :) I always make Snickerdoodles and Peanut Butter Blossoms, so those are up in the next day or so!

PS - In reading your yummy Murstee cookie recipe.... I would try chopping those whoppers with my Vidalia Onion Wizard! I bet it would be easier :) I LOVE my Vidalia Onion Wizard, can you tell?!

Funny.. you and have the same cookie list. I make most of those every year. I am so glad Breuklyn is having fun with learning. She is so cute! I am jealous! There is no snow where you are! This AM when I got up, it was 9 degrees! And snowing! Yep, it is pretty cold up here! As for cookie baking, DD is off school tomorrow, so we will be baking, baking and more baking. Glad you had a great weekend!

I LOVE, LOVE cookies and LOVE coming on your blog and looking at them, but baking cookies means eating cookies...most likely all of them. So no cookie baking for a while for me:( Unless it's something the kids like and I don't;)

It's funny how the kids change once they start reading and writing. Forget about spelling things cause now they can figure it out:( LOL
